Much has been written and said concerning the so-called ‘law of attraction’. It has become popular through DVDs and bestselling books, like ‘The Secret’ and by television talk-show hosts such as Larry King. And yet most do not comprehend what the aforementioned ‘attraction’ actually means. Could it be that you can attract into your life the kind of good things that you crave? And, if that’s what it means, how can you actually put the ‘Law of Attraction’ into action to change your life for the better?

The first thing to understand is that the ‘Law of Attraction’ is at work in your everyday life as you read these words. This may be a big surprise for you but what you need to understand is that the life you lead is a perfect mirror image of what’s happening in your head. Unfortunately, much of what’s rattling around in the normal person’s mind is doing them damage rather than good because, left on its own, the subconscious mind is both negative and focused in the past, constantly ‘enabling’ you – and that’s obviously not the correct word – to keep repeating all the learned ways of behaving that are, right now, creating your reality. To put it bluntly, as a result of the normal mind’s inner turmoil, it follows that the normal life is also in turmoil.

It doesn’t matter if you know[spin] [spin]this or not, the ‘Law of Attraction’ is a reality in your life. I’m not convinced, from reading some of the reams of stuff – often misleading stuff – on the subject, that many will have fully grasped the extraordinary importance of this situation. But say that you have. You already understand that, to quote ‘The Secret’, your thoughts become things – what occupies your mind manifests in your life. Great, you’ve grasped this all-important concept intellectually – but intellectually understanding these facts and being able to get this ‘manifestation’ working for you, rather than against you, is a whole new ballgame.

If you don’t deliberately take action each day to make certain that you’re in the right mental state, then it’s of no consequence how much you understand the way life works, you’re simply conning yourself into the wonderfully cosy misconception that this ‘Law of Attraction’ can change your life in a positive way.

To really practice the so-called “Law of Attraction” you’re going to have to clear your mind. There’s no point trying to fill your mind with thoughts of things that you want – no one knows for sure what they truly want. Better still to fill your mind with the only place and time we are – the here and now. If you do that, you will drag your subconscious away from its obsession with all that’s negative. You will become extraordinarily focused – effective, efficient, inspired and inspirational. In a clear state of mind you will attract the very best in life, enabling you rise to places that normal people couldn’t even dream of.

Our universe, our world and our everyday lives operate like a huge energy-exchange machine. So says quantum physics – everything is simply energy and the most basic components are superstrings of energy. You’ve got trillions of superstrings of energy that combine into particles, molecules, cells which, all together, make up the physical you. To quote the physicist Brian Greene, your superstrings are just like violin strings – when they’re all in tune, life’s just like a beautiful symphony. But how often does that happen? More often than not your strings are out of tune and your everyday life sounds more like a second-rate crappy brass band!

Forget the jargon of Personal Development, we even have expressions that describe how it feels to be ‘out of tune’ and, no coincidence, these generally refer to key centres in our body which ancient mysticism calls the key energy centres or ‘chakras’. Let me explain by way of example. If you’re nervous, you’ll feel like you have butterflies in your stomach – the physical manifestation of a state of mind. If you’ve something upsetting or unpalatable to say, you might experience a lump in your throat. If you’re feeling disenchanted you might have that sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach – a key energy centre often referred to by successful people when they talk about gut instinct or gut feel. And how come that nerves and upset can bring on a ‘tense nervous headache’?

To put it bluntly, whether you’re aware of the scientific explanation or not, you are conscious that your state of mind creates these physical knock-on effects. Where am I going with this? Well, our normal state of mind, which psychology has concluded is negative, is the cause of all manner of ills and, most importantly, is the source of un-fulfilment in our everyday lives. The normal subconscious mind turns our energy inward – and, as a consequence – so that we end up sabotaging our best efforts. Sometimes we are all too consious of the consequences of a negative state of mind: low self esteem, poor self confidence, a general feeling of unease in certain circumstances, anxiety, stress (all the way up to panic) and depression. But these are the obvious examples of a more subtle and deeply-rooted problem.

The inward focus of our energy means that we don’t have a sufficient amount of energy available to devote to what we should be doing right now and it is this ‘disability’ that keeps normal people within the confines of a normal, not-too-bad life. And as our universe and your life works on the basis of a return on the energy that you put into living now, with precious little investment comes little or no return. Little wonder that people lack fulfilment.

You’ve got to stop this vicious circle of self destruction. You’ve got to start investing more energy in your life, by putting more of you into living in the present moment. Get going, right now, by taking a few minutes, sitting somewhere where you won’t be disturbed, closing your eyes and simply listening to what you hear around you. This will silence the constant noise in your head and drags your subconscious mind’s attention away from its negative, self-sabotaging obsession and enables you turn that inward energy out into a world that is simply waiting to respond to presence in the here and now.

Specific skills need to be cultivated to achieve our goals. If we are too over confident, defeat can cripple us when we fail to achieve immediately. This is often because the person has no understanding of the meaning, purpose, or intentions of their lives.

We’ll speak initially about qualities that we may be unaware of that can help us, and of emotions that might be getting in our way. We can then work out what it is we need to work on and what type of self improvement book we may need. Knowing which of our qualities are in need of improvement helps us to make a start on the effective goal setting that will help us fix it.

Ask Questions: being curious or inquisitive is a life skill you should never suppress. When a person is curious, they inquire when questions require answers. Go as deep into the topic as you can and fully understand the things you do. If people think you are too nosy or ask too many questions assess whether your questions are appropriate. Is it your business? If it is, continue to be curious, it’s your life! Learning new things is a prime goal. Back off if people won’t help and learn from books. Focus your attention. Write down focal points to centre your interest. Purpose and meaning makes it easier to focus. Focusing helps you to capture opportunities and act on them. Read about the 80:20 rule, it suggests you should focus on the 20% that is important as the other 80% has little value. Effective people are capable of focusing on completing one thing at a time. Flitting between tasks and completing nothing is ineffective, even though you work just as hard doing it.

Always be willing. If you are defeated before you start, how can you ever win? People who are willing to face each new challenge confront problems and solve them. Getting it done now is motivation, leaving it till tomorrow is procrastination. There is no need to be a workaholic. When you are fresh and energetic it is time to act. Don’t stress yourself out trying to achieve too much. Increasing your income is the only way to achieve many financial goals you may have. If procrastination is a genuine problem – your first goal is to solve this. Read a self improvement book. It can mean the difference between achieving something you really desire or just endlessly letting things happen to you.

Keep in mind that all the traffic lights in your life won’t turn green at once. You can take the first step and see what the Universe will bring you. The Universe limitless, but there will be times it won’t give you the exactly what you’re asking for. Be flexible and adapt accordingly to your new circumstance. One of the most common questions and complaints that I run across with people learning the law of attraction is, they don’t seem to be able to get the hang of being able to manifest money with the law of attraction. While money is not the only thing that you can learn to attract with the law of attraction, it tends to be about the number one reason why people get so interested in learning about the law of attraction.

You have to understand that there is no magic money that is going to just end up getting deposited into your bank account or your wallet. While it is an interesting thought, you will pretty much never find anyone that just has money magically appear into their lives without some reason for it manifesting.

Here is a quick law of attraction lesson on being able to manifest money:

1) Write down an exact amount of money that you would like to have manifest.

If you need to, think small at this point, when you are starting out. Some will say a $ 20 bill is good, while others will recommend $ 100. Whatever it is, write it down and look at it long enough to get a mental imprint of the amount that you want to be able to attract or manifest.

2) Start to focus on HOW you can bring that amount of money into your life.

Don’t just think about lottery wins, contests or any other forms of chance to manifest money. Think about the skills that you possess, the things that you can do, the services that you can provide for others, etc. Many people get bogged down trying to win contests and lotteries with the law of attraction, and they forget about the many more practical ways that they can manifest money.

3) FEEL how good and happy it will make you to know that you can manifest money with the law of attraction.

Feelings and the way that you feel about money are important with both the law of attraction and your ability to manifest money. If it feels good, you are much more likely to attract it, as this is what you really want. A lot of people have bad feelings attached to money and they push away the possibility of being able to manifest more money.

This is just the start, but you have to start somewhere if you really want to manifest money with the law of attraction. It’s not just going to appear from the clouds above unless you do something to make it manifest.
